Call Borinken Tax and we can help determine the appropriate starting point. If you'd rather just ask someone before filling anything out, this is the one to pick.

Whether you complete the intake form or submit a notice through the secure portal, a Borinken Tax representative can follow up. Please don't email documents containing Social Security numbers or bank details — use the portal instead.

How We Help

Start with a review. Then we'll know the next step.

An IRS notice is stressful, but it's rarely as bad as it looks — and ignoring it only makes it worse. Borinken Tax can review IRS and state notices and assist with matters that fall within the services we provide. What we're able to handle depends on your individual situation, so the honest first step is always the same: let us look at it and explain it in plain language, in English or Spanish.

Where Borinken Tax can help

  • Reviewing an IRS or state notice and explaining what it actually says
  • Responding to many common notices (CP2000, balance-due, and similar)
  • Prior-year and unfiled returns — catching up on the years you missed
  • Amended returns when something was missed or reported incorrectly
  • Identity-verification letters and IP PIN issues
  • Checking whether a notice is even correct before you pay anything

How It Works

From notice to next step — without the panic.

1

Send it to us

Upload the notice through the client portal, or complete the Tax Resolution Intake Form so we understand the wider picture. Either route reaches us.

2

We review & explain

We review your situation, confirm what the IRS is actually asking for, and lay out your realistic options in plain language.

3

We handle it — or refer it

If it's a notice response, amendment, or prior-year filing, we take it from there. If it calls for specialized collection or resolution representation, we'll explain your options and where that work goes.

When a Situation Needs a Specialist

Larger tax debt: our referral relationship with Community Tax.

Some situations call for specialized collection and resolution representation that sits outside the services Borinken Tax provides. For those, we have a referral relationship with Community Tax.

Please note

Community Tax is a separate company. It is not part of Borinken Tax, and Borinken Tax does not provide the specialized representation Community Tax handles.

How the referral works

  • Community Tax generally looks for clients with approximately $7,000 or more in total tax debt, because the cost of professional resolution services may not make financial sense for someone with a smaller balance.
  • If your situation is a better fit for them, we'll tell you honestly rather than take on work that isn't ours to do.
  • Borinken Tax can continue handling your tax-preparation work while the collection or resolution matter is handled separately.
  • We won't promise a result before reviewing your situation, and we'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on.

Under roughly $7,000, or not sure what you owe? Start with us anyway — a review costs you nothing and often the number on the notice isn't the number you actually owe.

Tell us what's going on.

Upload your notice through the client portal, or complete the Tax Resolution Intake Form and a Borinken Tax representative will follow up. The sooner we look at it, the more options you usually have.

Prefer to talk first? Call (317) 551-1716 — bilingual EN/ES.

Don't wait on an IRS letter.

Most tax problems get easier to sort out the sooner someone looks at them. Send it over and we'll start with a review.
